Then his master shall bring him unto The Judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.

If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as The Judges determine.

If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto The Judges, to see whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour's goods.

For all manner of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing, which another challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before The Judges; and whom The Judges shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour.

And Moses said unto The Judges of Israel, Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baalpeor.

Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the LORD, before the priests and The Judges, which shall be in those days;

If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that The Judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.

Now it came to pass in the days when The Judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehemjudah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons. And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Bethlehemjudah. And they came into the country of Moab, and continued there. And Elimelech Naomi's husband died; and she was left, and her two sons. Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the LORD had visited his people in giving them bread. And Naomi said unto her two daughters in law, Go, return each to her mother's house: the LORD deal kindly with you, as ye have dealt with the dead, and with me. The LORD grant you that ye may find rest, each of you in the house of her husband. Then she kissed them; and they lifted up their voice, and wept. And they said unto her, Surely we will return with thee unto thy people. And Naomi said, Turn again, my daughters: why will ye go with me? are there yet any more sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands? Turn again, my daughters, go your way; for I am too old to have an husband. If I should say, I have hope, if I should have an husband also to night, and should also bear sons; Would ye tarry for them till they were grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands? nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD is gone out against me. And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her. And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law. And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me. When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her. So they two went until they came to Bethlehem. And it came to pass, when they were come to Bethlehem, that all the city was moved about them, and they said, Is this Naomi? And she said unto them, Call me not Naomi, call me Mara: for the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me. I went out full, and the LORD hath brought me home again empty: why then call ye me Naomi, seeing the LORD hath testified against me, and the Almighty hath afflicted me? So Naomi returned, and Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter in law, with her, which returned out of the country of Moab: and they came to Bethlehem in the beginning of barley harvest. show less

Surely there was not holden such a passover from the days of The Judges that judged Israel, nor in all the days of the kings of Israel, nor of the kings of Judah;

Wheresoever I have walked with all Israel, spake I a word to any of The Judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have ye not built me an house of cedars?

Then Solomon spake unto all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to The Judges, and to every governor in all Israel, the chief of the fathers.

And said to The Judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment.

Let now our rulers of all the congregation stand, and let all them which have taken strange wives in our cities come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and The Judges thereof, until the fierce wrath of our God for this matter be turned from us.

The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covereth the faces of The Judges thereof; if not, where, and who is he?

He leadeth counsellers away spoiled, and maketh The Judges fools.

For this is an heinous crime; yea, it is an iniquity to be punished by The Judges.

By me princes rule, and nobles, even all The Judges of the earth.

That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh The Judges of the earth as vanity.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, The Judges, the treasurers, the counsellers, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

Then the princes, the governors, and captains, The Judges, the treasurers, the counsellers, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
