. The word ελληνις Hellēnis means Greek woman, but the word γυνη gunē is added. In particular women of rank Probably Luke means by implication that the “men” (ανδρων andrōn) were also noble Greeks though he does not expressly say so. So then the Jews were more open to the message, the proselytes or God-fearers followed suit, with “not a few” (ουκ ολιγοι ouk oligoi) real Greeks (both men and women) believing.
