Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits.
I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved.
My beloved is gone down into his garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the gardens, and to gather lilies.

And, behold, seven ears, withered, thin, and blasted with the east WIND, sprung up after them:

And there went forth a WIND from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day's journey on this side, and as it were a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.
And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and WIND, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong WIND rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the WIND: and after the WIND an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
For thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not see WIND, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your beasts.
And, behold, there came a great WIND from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong WIND?
Terrors are turned upon me: they pursue my soul as the WIND: and my welfare passeth away as a cloud.
Thou liftest me up to the WIND; thou causest me to ride upon it, and dissolvest my substance.
Then did I beat them small as the dust before the WIND: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.
He caused an east WIND to blow in the heaven: and by his power he brought in the south WIND.
For he remembered that they were but flesh; a WIND that passeth away, and cometh not again.
For the WIND passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the WIND out of his treasuries.
He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his WIND to blow, and the waters flow.

Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy WIND shall rend it.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even rend it with a stormy WIND in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it.

And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the WIND? But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings' houses. But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet. For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. read more Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. show less
But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the WIND was contrary.
But when he saw the WIND boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
And there arose a great storm of WIND, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
And he arose, and rebuked the WIND, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the WIND ceased, and there was a great calm.
And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the WIND and the sea obey him?
And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the WIND was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.
And he went up unto them into the ship; and the WIND ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.
And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the WIND?
But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of WIND on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.
And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the WIND and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.
The WIND bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the WIND not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;
And when the south WIND blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete. But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous WIND, called Euroclydon. And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the WIND, we let her drive. And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat: read more Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven. And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship; And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship. And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away. But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss. And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship. For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island. But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country; And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms. Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day. And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship, Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved. Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off. And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing. Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you. And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat. Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat. And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls. And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea. And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship. And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the WIND, and made toward shore. And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves. And the soldiers' counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape. But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land: And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land. show less
And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the WIND, and made toward shore.
And from thence we fetched a compass, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south WIND blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli:
That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every WIND of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty WIND.
And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the WIND should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
