Genesis 3:1-14
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: read more For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: show less |

And the boys grew: and Esau was a Cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.
Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of Cunning work shalt thou make them.
And thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of Cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made:
And they shall make the ephod of gold, of blue, and of purple, of scarlet, and fine twined linen, with Cunning work.
And thou shalt make the breastplate of judgment with Cunning work; after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it; of gold, of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine twined linen, shalt thou make it.
And in the cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of wood, to make any manner of Cunning work.
Them hath he filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work, of the engraver, and of the Cunning workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do any work, and of those that devise Cunning work.
And every wise hearted man among them that wrought the work of the tabernacle made ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of Cunning work made he them.
And he made a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen: with cherubims made he it of Cunning work.
And with him was Aholiab, son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, an engraver, and a Cunning workman, and an embroiderer in blue, and in purple, and in scarlet, and fine linen.
And they did beat the gold into thin plates, and cut it into wires, to work it in the blue, and in the purple, and in the scarlet, and in the fine linen, with Cunning work.
And he made the breastplate of Cunning work, like the work of the ephod; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.
Let our lord now command thy servants, which are before thee, to seek out a man, who is a Cunning player on an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well.
Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is Cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD is with him.
He was a widow's son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass: and he was filled with wisdom, and understanding, and Cunning to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and wrought all his work.
Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of Cunning men for every manner of work.
So the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in the songs of the LORD, even all that were Cunning, was two hundred fourscore and eight.
Send me now therefore a man Cunning to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue, and that can skill to grave with the Cunning men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father did provide.
And now I have sent a Cunning man, endued with understanding, of Huram my father's,
The son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tyre, skilful to work in gold, and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson; also to grave any manner of graving, and to find out every device which shall be put to him, with thy Cunning men, and with the Cunning men of my lord David thy father.
And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by Cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.
How beautiful are thy feet with shoes, O prince's daughter! the joints of thy thighs are like jewels, the work of the hands of a Cunning workman.
The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counseller, and the Cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.
He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a Cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Consider ye, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for Cunning women, that they may come:
Silver spread into plates is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the workman, and of the hands of the founder: blue and purple is their clothing: they are all the work of Cunning men.
