Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. |

Isaiah 49:16-26
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me. Thy children shall make haste; thy destroyers and they that made thee waste shall go forth of thee. Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to thee. As I live, saith the LORD, thou shalt surely clothe thee with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on thee, as a bride doeth. For thy waste and thy desolate places, and the land of thy destruction, shall even now be too narrow by reason of the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away. read more The children which thou shalt have, after thou hast lost the other, shall say again in thine ears, The place is too strait for me: give place to me that I may dwell. Then shalt thou say in thine heart, Who hath begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro? and who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been? Thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders. And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me. Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob. show less |

1 Peter 5:12
By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand. |
||
And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which i have written; that thou mayest teach them.
i have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing.
Nevertheless, brethren, i have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God,
But now i have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for i have written a letter unto you in few words.
By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, i have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.
i have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. i have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and i will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which i have written; that thou mayest teach them.
Go ye, inquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for great <i>isi> the wrath of the LORD that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us. So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college;) and they communed with her.
Go, inquire of the LORD for me, and for them that are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found: for great <i>isi> the wrath of the LORD that is poured out upon us, because our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD, to do after all that is written in this book.
Thus saith the LORD, Behold, i will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, <i>eveni> all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah:
If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and i will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring <i>iti> into the king's treasuries.
And said, If it please the king, and if i have found favour in his sight, and the thing <i>seemi> right before the king, and i <i>bei> pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews which <i>arei> in all the king's provinces:
O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, <i>andi> they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.
And i will bring upon that land all my words which i have pronounced against it, <i>eveni> all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.
Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that <i>isi> written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.
i have written to him the great things of my law, <i>buti> they were counted as a strange thing.
But i say unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him.
For i say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.
God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have i begotten thee.
As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written <i>andi> concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from <i>thingsi> offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.
(As it is written, i have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, <i>eveni> God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
Nevertheless, brethren, i have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God,
And these things, brethren, i have in a figure transferred to myself and <i>toi> Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think <i>of meni> above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.
But now i have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
But i have used none of these things: neither have i written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for <i>it werei> better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void.
We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, i believed, and therefore have i spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
i Paul have written <i>iti> with mine own hand, i will repay <i>iti>: albeit i do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.
And i beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for i have written a letter unto you in few words.
By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as i suppose, i have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.
i have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him <i>that isi> from the beginning. i have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
i have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
These <i>thingsi> have i written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
These things have i written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
