After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. |

After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. |
The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that i thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, i thirst.
And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore <i>isi> this <i>thati> thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?
Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all <i>thingsi>: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, i shall have peace, though i walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:
And he was sore athirst, and called on the LORD, and said, Thou hast given this great deliverance into the hand of thy servant: and now shall i die for thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?

He draweth also the mighty with his power: he riseth up, and no <i>mani> is sure of life. <i>Thoughi> it be given him <i>to bei> in safety, whereon he resteth; yet his eyes <i>arei> upon their ways. They are exalted for a little while, but are gone and brought low; they are taken out of the way as all <i>otheri>, and cut off as the tops of the ears of corn. And if <i>it bei> not <i>soi> now, who will make me a liar, and make my speech nothing worth? show less
Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because <i>they havei> no knowledge: and their honourable men <i>arei> famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.
<i>Wheni> the poor and needy seek water, and <i>there isi> none, <i>andi> their tongue faileth for thirst, i the LORD will hear them, <i>ii> the God of Israel will not forsake them.
Wherefore, when i came, <i>was therei> no man? when i called, <i>was therei> none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have i no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke i dry up the sea, i make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because <i>there isi> no water, and dieth for thirst.
Withhold thy foot from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst: but thou saidst, There is no hope: no; for i have loved strangers, and after them will i go.
Thou daughter that dost inhabit Dibon, come down from <i>thyi> glory, and sit in thirst; for the spoiler of Moab shall come upon thee, <i>andi> he shall destroy thy strong holds.
The tongue of the sucking child cleaveth to the roof of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask bread, <i>andi> no man breaketh <i>iti> unto them.
Lest i strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and slay her with thirst.
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that i will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
Blessed <i>arei> they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
