The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws. |
And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which is the nineteenth year of king nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem:
And when the year was expired, king nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the LORD, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.
And he also rebelled against king nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the LORD God of Israel.

Then the king nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.
This dream I king nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.
While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.
There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers;
In his days nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.
At that time the servants of nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.
And nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came against the city, and his servants did besiege it.
And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he, and all his host, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it; and they built forts against it round about.
And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which is the nineteenth year of king nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem:
And as for the people that remained in the land of Judah, whom nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, even over them he made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, ruler.
Against him came up nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.
Now these are the children of the province that went up out of the captivity, of those which had been carried away, whom nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away unto Babylon, and came again unto Jerusalem and Judah, every one unto his city;
But after that our fathers had provoked the God of heaven unto wrath, he gave them into the hand of nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, the Chaldean, who destroyed this house, and carried the people away into Babylon.
And the vessels also of gold and silver of the house of God, which nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple that was in Jerusalem, and brought them into the temple of Babylon, those did Cyrus the king take out of the temple of Babylon, and they were delivered unto one, whose name was Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor;
These are the children of the province, that went up out of the captivity, of those that had been carried away, whom nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away, and came again to Jerusalem and to Judah, every one unto his city;
Who had been carried away from Jerusalem with the captivity which had been carried away with Jeconiah king of Judah, whom nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away.
And now have I given all these lands into the hand of nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.
And it shall come to pass, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve the same nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith the LORD, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.
Which nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took not, when he carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem;
Within two full years will I bring again into this place all the vessels of the LORD'S house, that nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place, and carried them to Babylon:
And Hananiah spake in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Even so will I break the yoke of nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all nations within the space of two full years. And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.
For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; I have put a yoke of iron upon the neck of all these nations, that they may serve nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him: and I have given him the beasts of the field also.

The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, when nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his army, and all the kingdoms of the earth of his dominion, and all the people, fought against Jerusalem, and against all the cities thereof, saying,
But the Chaldeans' army pursued after them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho: and when they had taken him, they brought him up to nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he gave judgment upon him.
In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.
Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before nebuchadnezzar.
But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;

nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.
Then nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellers, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellers, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that nebuchadnezzar had set up.
That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:
Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
Then nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.
Then nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellers, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
Then nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein.
There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers;
