[21] So  when they had further threatened them,  them  go,  finding  nothing  how  they might punish  them,  because  of the people:  for  all  men glorified  God  for  that which was done.  [22] For  the man  above  forty  years old,  on  whom  miracle  of healing  was shewed. 

What does Acts 4:21-22 Mean?

Contextual Meaning

Even in the face of open defiance the Sanhedrin could do no more than threaten the apostles again. Peter and John had done nothing wrong. Furthermore they had become popular heroes by this healing. By punishing them the rulers would have antagonized the people.
