[31] For the Lord  will not cast off  for ever:  [32] But though he cause grief,  yet will he have compassion  according to the multitude  of his mercies. 

What does Lamentations 3:31-32 Mean?

Contextual Meaning

The Lord"s rejection of His own is only temporary (cf. Jeremiah 3:5; Jeremiah 3:12). Compassion and loyal love will replace grief eventually (cf. Job 5:18; Psalm 30:5; Isaiah 54:8).
