[13] Upon the land  of my people  shall come up  thorns  and briers;  yea, upon all the houses  of joy  in the joyous  city:  [14] Because the palaces  shall be forsaken;  the multitude  of the city  shall be left;  the forts  and towers  shall be for dens  for  ever,  a joy  of wild asses,  a pasture  of flocks; 

What does Isaiah 32:13-14 Mean?

Contextual Meaning

Land once cultivated would become deserted, and their homes, even the palaces, would be left empty. Animals would occupy what humans formerly inhabited (cf. Isaiah 5:17).

Nebuchadnezzar destroyed Jerusalem in586 B.C, 115 years after Sennacherib besieged it in701 B.C.
