[13] Have mercy  upon me, O LORD;  consider  my trouble  which I suffer of them that hate  me, thou that liftest me up  from the gates  of death:  [14] That I may shew forth  all thy praise  in the gates  of the daughter  of Zion:  I will rejoice  in thy salvation. 

What does Psalms 9:13-14 Mean?

Contextual Meaning

The psalmist appealed for God"s grace in defense from the attacks of those who hated him. God could save him from death. If He would do Song of Solomon , David promised to praise the Lord publicly among His people in Jerusalem. The "daughter of Zion" is a metaphor for the city of God (e.g, Isaiah 1:8; Isaiah 10:32) and the people of God (e.g, Micah 4:8).
