John 18:15-18

John 18:15-18

[15] And  Simon  Peter  followed  Jesus,  and  so did another  disciple:  that  disciple  known  unto the high priest,  and  went in with  Jesus  into  the palace  of the high priest.  [16] But  Peter  stood  at  the door  without.  Then  went out  that other  disciple,  known  unto the high priest,  and  spake  unto her that kept the door,  and  brought in  Peter.  [17] Then  saith  the damsel  that kept the door  unto Peter,  not  thou  also  one of  man's  disciples?  He  saith,  I am  not.  [18] And  the servants  and  officers  stood there,  who had made  a fire of coals;  for  cold:  and  they warmed themselves:  and  Peter  with  them,  and  warmed himself.

What does John 18:15-18 Mean?

Contextual Meaning

As the other evangelists, John alternated his account of the events surrounding Jesus" religious trial. He described what was happening in the courtyard ( John 18:15-18), then what was happening inside ( John 18:19-24), then what happened outside again ( John 18:25-27). This literary technique contrasts Jesus with Peter.
