Deuteronomy 25:11-12

[11] strive  together  one with another,  and the wife  of the one  draweth near  for to deliver  her husband  out of the hand  of him that smiteth  him, and putteth forth  her hand,  and taketh  him by the secrets:  [12] Then thou shalt cut off  her hand,  thine eye  shall not pity  her.

What does Deuteronomy 25:11-12 Mean?

Contextual Meaning

God forbade an Israelite woman from gaining unfair advantage of her husband"s adversary in hand-to-hand fighting. This is a rare example of punishment by mutilation in the Pentateuch (cf. Exodus 21:23-25; Leviticus 24:19-20; Deuteronomy 19:21).
