Cursed be he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.

Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

Thou shalt not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that are in thy land within thy gates: At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee. The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin. Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.

In thee have they set light by father and mother: in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the stranger: in thee have they vexed the fatherless and the widow.
