And he Humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.
And it shall be, if thou have no delight in her, then thou shalt let her go whither she will; but thou shalt not sell her at all for money, thou shalt not make merchandise of her, because thou hast Humbled her.
Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath Humbled his neighbour's wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you.
Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath Humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.
Because thine heart was tender, and thou hast Humbled thyself before the LORD, when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and hast rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard thee, saith the LORD.
Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king Humbled themselves; and they said, The LORD is righteous.
And when the LORD saw that they Humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah, saying, They have Humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.
And when he Humbled himself, the wrath of the LORD turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well.
Nevertheless divers of Asher and Manasseh and of Zebulun Humbled themselves, and came to Jerusalem.
Notwithstanding Hezekiah Humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD came not upon them in the days of Hezekiah.
And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and Humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,
His prayer also, and how God was intreated of him, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was Humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers.
And Humbled not himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had Humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God, and Humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the LORD.
But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I Humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.
The lofty looks of man shall be Humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be Humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be Humbled:
Behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, shall lop the bough with terror: and the high ones of stature shall be hewn down, and the haughty shall be Humbled.
They are not Humbled even unto this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.
In thee have they discovered their fathers' nakedness: in thee have they Humbled her that was set apart for pollution.
And one hath committed abomination with his neighbour's wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter in law; and another in thee hath Humbled his sister, his father's daughter. In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord GOD. Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee. Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the LORD have spoken it, and will do it. read more And I will scatter thee among the heathen, and disperse thee in the countries, and will consume thy filthiness out of thee. And thou shalt take thine inheritance in thyself in the sight of the heathen, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD. And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye are all become dross, behold, therefore I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will leave you there, and melt you. Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof. show less
