I said In mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.
For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God answereth him In the joy of his heart.
the heart of the wise is In the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is In the house of mirth.
Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set In them to do evil.
For all this I considered In my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are In the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them.
This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is In their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.
Rejoice, O young man, In thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee In the days of thy youth, and walk In the ways of thine heart, and In the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.
Go forth, O ye daughters of Zion, and behold king Solomon with the crown wherewith his mother crowned him In the day of his espousals, and In the day of the gladness of his heart.
And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say In the pride and stoutness of heart,
For thou hast said In thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, In the sides of the north:
My heart shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives shall flee unto Zoar, an heifer of three years old: for by the mounting up of Luhith with weeping shall they go it up; for In the way of Horonaim they shall raise up a cry of destruction.
the burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt In the midst of it.
Ye shall have a song, as In the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.
And none considereth In his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it In the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?
Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest In thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:
Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people In whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.
For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell In the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly In the way of his heart.
In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise In me; I cannot hold my peace, because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.
Neither say they In their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, In his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.
But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked In the counsels and In the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.
And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is In the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters In the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart.
Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are In the utmost corners, that dwell In the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised In the heart.
Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one In the imagination of their evil heart: therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do; but they did them not.
This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk In the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.
And if thou say In thine heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered, and thy heels made bare.
Then the LORD said unto me, the prophets prophesy lies In my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.
Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth In man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
the anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: In the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.
How long shall this be In the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;
the fierce anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have done it, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: In the latter days ye shall consider it.
Kerioth is taken, and the strong holds are surprised, and the mighty men's hearts In Moab at that day shall be as the heart of a woman In her pangs.
Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest In the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD.
Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread his wings over Bozrah: and at that day shall the heart of the mighty men of Edom be as the heart of a woman In her pangs.
And lest your heart faint, and ye fear for the rumour that shall be heard In the land; a rumour shall both come one year, and after that In another year shall come a rumour, and violence In the land, ruler against ruler.
Behold, O LORD; for I am In distress: my bowels are troubled; mine heart is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled: abroad the sword bereaveth, at home there is as death.
Arise, cry out In the night: In the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger In the top of every street.
And they that escape of you shall remember me among the nations whither they shall be carried captives, because I am broken with their whorish heart, which hath departed from me, and with their eyes, which go a whoring after their idols: and they shall lothe themselves for the evils which they have committed In all their abominations.
Son of man, these men have set up their idols In their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be inquired of at all by them?
Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols In his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols;
That I may take the house of Israel In their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.
For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth In Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols In his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to inquire of him concerning me; I the LORD will answer him by myself:
Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, In the days that I shall deal with thee? I the LORD have spoken it, and will do it.
For thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast clapped thine hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced In heart with all thy despite against the land of Israel;
Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit In the seat of God, In the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God:
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast lifted up thyself In height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up In his height;
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely In the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.
In that ye have brought into my sanctuary strangers, uncircumcised In heart, and uncircumcised In flesh, to be In my sanctuary, to pollute it, even my house, when ye offer my bread, the fat and the blood, and they have broken my covenant because of all your abominations.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; No stranger, uncircumcised In heart, nor uncircumcised In flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any stranger that is among the children of Israel.
But Daniel purposed In his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs. And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king. Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, read more Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink. Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants. So he consented to them In this matter, and proved them ten days. And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter In flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat. Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse. As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill In all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding In all visions and dreams. show less
And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled In the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.
Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed In me: but I kept the matter In my heart.
And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper In his hand; and he shall magnify himself In his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
For they have made ready their heart like an oven, whiles they lie In wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; In the morning it burneth as a flaming fire.
the pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest In the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith In his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?
She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and much pain is In all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.
And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say In their heart, the LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.
This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said In her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down In! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.
And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother In your heart.
And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine: yea, their children shall see it, and be glad; their heart shall rejoice In the LORD.
And the governors of Judah shall say In their heart, the inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength In the LORD of hosts their God.
For as Jonas was three days and three nights In the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights In the heart of the earth.
When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown In his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt In his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
But and if that servant say In his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
Now when they heard this, they were pricked In their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised In heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
Thou hast neither part nor lot In this matter: for thy heart is not right In the sight of God.
But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, In the spirit, and not In the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not In thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
But what saith it? the word is nigh thee, even In thy mouth, and In thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe In thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is In you of a truth.
Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not In tables of stone, but In fleshy tables of the heart.
Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is In them, because of the blindness of their heart:
Speaking to yourselves In psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody In your heart to the Lord;
Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, In singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;
Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you In my heart; inasmuch as both In my bonds, and In the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.
Servants, obey In all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but In singleness of heart, fearing God:
But we, brethren, being taken from you for a short time In presence, not In heart, endeavoured the more abundantly to see your face with great desire.
Take heed, brethren, lest there be In any of you an evil heart of unbelief, In departing from the living God.
Seeing ye have purified your souls In obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
But let it be the hidden man of the heart, In that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is In the sight of God of great price.
